CMIC’s Environment Group Launches  Industry-led consortium for advanced environmental sensors

The Canada Mining Innovation Council (CMIC) is pleased to announce that its Environment group has launched an industry-led consortium for the development of advanced environmental sensors. The consortium will invest in technology companies developing next-generation technology platforms for remote, real-time water quality monitoring. This will enable real-time, data-driven decision making for environmental management, and will contribute to the broader digital transformation of the mining business.
 
Commenting on the achievement, Dr. Michel Julien, VP Environment at Agnico Eagle and Chair of the CMIC Environment Group said, “Innovation is essential for driving continual improvement in environmental performance. Investing in advanced technology platforms will help transform environmental management and improve the overall sustainability of the mining business.
