Ottawa, Ontario, March 12, 2019 – The Canada Mining Innovation Council (CMIC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Gordon Bogden has been elected as the new Chair of the Board. Mr. Bogden succeeds Jean Robitaille, who served as Chair since June 2016.
Mr. Bogden is currently Chairman of Black Loon Group, a private mining investment company, and is a former President and CEO of Alloycorp Mining Inc. He served as a Vice Chairman Metals and Mining with Standard Chartered Bank and National Bank Financial and was a senior mining investment banker with Gryphon Partners, NM Rothschilds & Sons Canada, and CIBC Wood Gundy and a geophysicist and co-founder of Quantech Consulting. He has served as a director of over a dozen public mining companies including Royal Gold, Inc. and Orvana Minerals Corp. and is the former Chairman of Volta Resources, and past Chairman of Nexgen Energy. He is a founding council member of the Development Partner Institute and was a member of the Mt. Sinai Hospital Foundation Board and the Bridgepoint Health Foundation Board in Toronto. In 2013, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his work with Right to Play where he continues to serve as a member of the Canadian Advisory Board.
